Ingredients
• 4 slices wholemeal bread (crusts removed)
• 2 green apples - sliced thinly
• 1 tablespoon brown sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1 tablespoon raisins
• 1 teaspoon water
• 1 teaspoon honey
Method
1. In a saucepan, combine apple slices, brown sugar, raisins and cinnamon. Cook apple mixture over a slow fire until soft. Leave mixture to cool.
2. Using a rolling pin, flatten bread slices.
3. Place a tablespoon of apple mixture in the centre of each slice of bread. Bring the two opposite corners together and secure with a toothpick.
4. In a small bowl, mix together honey and water. Brush each bread parcel with honey mixture. Place bread parcels on a nonstick baking tray. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden and crisp.
Note: You can replace apple mixture with homecooked pineapple mixture.
