Suitable for toddlers and older children
Makes 2 x 1cup servings
Ingredients
Creamy Papaya Shake
• 1 cup diced ripe papaya, chilled
• 3.5 level scoops (or 25 g) vanilla flavored growing up
milk powder dissolved in 1/4 cup water
• 1 tsp calamansi / lemon juice
• 1/2 tbsp white sugar
• 1/4 cup shaved ice
Others
• 1/4 cup drained canned whole kernel corn, chilled
• 1/2 cup cubed ripe avocado flesh, chilled
• 1/4 cup cooked pearl (colorless) sago, chilled
Garnishing
• Colorful fat plastic straws
Method
1. For the Papaya Shake, put all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Set aside.
2. Meanwhile, apportion equally the whole kernel corn, the avocado cubes and the sago into 2 clear serving glasses (you may use tumblers or parfait glasses). Layer these ingredients in the following order to create a pretty layered effect: the corn first, followed by the avocado then the sago last.
3. Then slowly and carefully pour the Creamy Papaya Shake over the layers of ingredients in the glass.
4. Serve immediately while cold with colorful fat plastic straws
Fact File
This delicious milk shake makes a great thirst quencher, with lots of essential nutrients e.g. protein, calcium, vitamin C, beta-carotene. For toddlers, you may want to replace the kernel corn with creamed corn and cut the avocado cubes into smaller pieces, to prevent choking.
