Makes 14 servings

Ingredients

• 3 cups (375 g) self-raising flour

• 30 g grated Parmesan cheese

• 45 g grated Cheddar cheese

• 1/2 cup freshly chopped chives

• pepper (to taste)

• 6 scoops milk powder(reconstitute with 1 glass water - use one suitable for your child's age)

Method

1. In a bowl, mix together flour, cheeses, chives and pepper.

2. Stir in milk to form a soft sticky dough.

3. Turn dough onto a slightly floured surface and knead lightly. Using the palm of your hand or a rolling pin, gently press out the dough to a 3 cm thickness.

4. Cut out the dough into 5 cm rounds, using a scone cutter.

5. Bake at 180°C for 12 to 15 minutes or until scones are risen and golden in colour.

6. Serve when cool.

Note: This is a scrumptious snack which provides your child with a good dose of calcium and protein.
