Anyone has any advice for my baby who is on self impose liquid diet - as in only drinks milk for the past month. He is 17mths, never eaten anything solid - at best very soft porridge disguised in packaged rice cereal. Ate tat for a while but recently changed to only drinks milk. Chews toys and anything non food except food. Both western and chinese doctors cannot do anything except to wait and see. Worried about nutrition. Thanks.

Hi Sam, Did the doctors give you any advise? To my understanding, around this period your boy could be having his pre-molar teeth, which will make him feel rather uncomfortable. Perhaps you can try giving him diluted cereals in the bottle instead of milk. This way, you don't have to worry about him having not enough nutrients while you wait & see.

Thanks Daphne for replying. The doc actually said not to worried as apparently some kids dont eat until 3 years old but I am still not too convinced. I mean, for a kids who just eat one thing is not too bad from my perspective - at least the bb is eating something! For a while my bb was teething but that seems to have stopped somewhat. drinking diluted cereal - yup, have started to add into his milk - but does that suffice? I am so envious of kids at restaurant who actually eats. Wondering

Hi Sam, Those bb cereals are sufficient for toddler if you give those that are meant for their age. Of cos it's good to take other food too but sometimes it's not up to us to decide... hehe Have you try making 'watery' porridge for your boy? It works for my gal thou. As for chewing.. sometimes it depends on her mood too... if the biscuit she likes then she'll make an effort to chew. maybe you can try getting some nice children finger bits for him frm Gerber. If you're really worried, why not try co

Thanks so much and apologies for not replying earlier. I will keep trying I suppose. Not easy when it comes to food. My parents call it retribution cos when I was a bb, me dont really like food., But they agree too that my bb takes the cake. Baby cereal are usually those that says above 9months....suitable for bb at 17 months? Will try those biscuits. Thanks!

Baby not eatingHi there, my sone is now 13 months. Also refused to eat food. Whenever we showed him the spoon, he will pushed it away with his hands. However, he does drinks milk but also not much. One shot can only finish 4oz or ever lesser- depends on his mood. I brought my son to this clinic called Garden Clinic in Serangoon Ave 2 and the paed prescribe for my son appetizer. So far, quite ok lah. Even tho not eating much, at least he takes a spponful of porridge, fruits.etc..better than last time. My son
