Hi, my son coming to 16mths still need to be feed 1 or 2 times at nite. He sleep quite early at around 9pm, the most 10pm. His last feed is around 8.30pm and only drink 5oz. Thus, can last till morning...
hi, my bb gal's 15 months, she wont wake up for milk, just for water, but only once a while, especially hot days. her last milk feed at 9pm 7oz. she wake up only at 9am, normally sleeps thru the nite, she sleeps on a single bed. opposite our bed. ejesmum, try not to let him sleep in between papa and mama if he already sleep by himself, that will only make him like to wake at nite so that can sleep with papa and mama.
i know its a bad habit to put him in between us but if i put him back in his bed, he will keep on waking up again and again crying for bao bao . he is not hungry lah, tried to feed him , but he refuse the milk.... sigh... really so envy that all your bb can sleep thru' the night. i have not been having a long night sleep since given birth to the 2nd bb
my son now 18 1/2mths , he also wake up at mid-night to drink water, so i training him by put his water bottle beside him and ask him take by himself (when he already in sleeping). So surprise he can take it and open the cover by himself at mid-nite. So start from the training he won't ask us to wake-up tp feed him the water or milk. And start from last 2 mths i try to put him in his bed to sleep (before that his will sleep at our bed then we move him to his own bed), and put all the boster, pillow or wh
I would suggest that you let him sleep on mattress beside your bed. When sleeping time, you sleep together with him, once he has fallen asleep, you shift back to your own bed. My son ever since 8 months old, he slept thru the night without any feeding. Try not to feed them, if they cry, pat them to sleep. My last feeding is 10pm and he sleeps all the way till 7am. He is now 18 months old.
somtimes we just tend to go for a easy way, but start trying the hard way for one week, things will be differnt. leanmei's method is good , i will try that when my gal go 18 mth, and Zhining, make a good point too, sleep together with bb, then shift back to our own bed. ejesmum, we all know how awful it is for not getting a whole night sleep for 18 mth, so, try not to put him between papa and mama for one week, insist even he cries, see how he will compromise, one week trying maybe will change your li
My baby is just into 4 mth old. He was able to sleep thru the nite when he was 3 mth old. But lately he starts waking up. He would cry out loud, need us to sooth him or something but I give him milk. His last feed is 4-5oz at 9pm. I wonder what makes him wake up. Is the room too cold? Is something making him not comfortable?
Hi GSY, from my experience, bb below one still have not develope a specific habit yet, they will seem okay this few days, but not ok coming few weeks! Since now your bb is four mth old, maybe you have tried solid food, may be is the food that make him uncomfortable, should see whether he is stomach ache, and you are rite, somtimes room temperature changes will wake them too. Since he can sleep thru nite since 3 mth, dun give him milk when he wakes up , but give him water instead, unless you really thi
Ping Ching, Thanks for your advice. I am not really sure whether he is hungry. First time I gave him pacifier, but I didnt take him out from his cot. Then it didn't seem to settle him down, so I gave him milk. \"Not ok coming few weeks\" ? Could you elaborate more? I have yet to give him solid food. My baby is able to hold up his head but not as stable yet. Was adviced to give solid food when he's 4 mths plus. The room temp has been the same since he's 3 mths old. We keep our room dark ev
GSY, How's your bb reaction this few days? can sleep soundly? What i mean not ok coming few weeks, is sometimes like your bb can sleep thru nite when three mth, then he will wake up middle of the nite for a few weeks b4 he sleep thru nite again. BB cant predict what their behavior yet, maybe after 1year will stable down. just tell yourself the first year is the hardest, after that you will face other things, like chasing them around, saying no etc, for now is the basic thing that bother us, having
HAPPY BELATED MOTHER'S DAY To ALL MOMS OUT THERE. Hi Ping Ching, Unfortunately, it didn't work out. He was really waking up for milk. After he was done drinking water, he cried outloud wanting for milk....I guess he was hungry then since I can hear his tummy growling. I hope like you said, he will sleep thru the nite later on. Does baby move alot while they sleep? My baby would move to the left or right during the nite, he doesn't seem comfortable, I dunno. Are all babies like this? I am de
Hello GSY, I guess your bb is just like my gal, always craving for MILK!! I remember when she's about 3mths, I read somewhere that giving plain water for a few days can slowly wean off the baby frm night feed. I did what the article says. Imagine my gal drinks 6oz of plain water & is still crying & couldn't get back to sleep. So I got no choice but to feed her. She just drink alittle milk & off she goes to dreamland. hehe I guess somethings is really diff to change. Cheers, Daphne
Hi GSY, i think every mom out there also looking forward to our bb's growing. it is trully a very exciting things to wait. frankly speaking, all my bb can only sleep thru nite after 5 mths, for my son is the worst, he sleep thru nite after 1 year old. but it's me to be blame, coz i let him suck my breast everytime he wake up. i thought that would be much easier for me, but is not. when i finally take up the courage to change, i tell my hubby i need to let Ah Boy to cry for 1 week, coz i need to change
Daphne, haha 6oz of water! Wow that is alot! It sounds so cute reading the column Ping Ching, I heard from friends that most westerner use this method to put their baby to sleep (after a long cry). ..but mostly the baby sleep in a different room from the parents. As for myself, I dun think I can do it, unless I am really determined to do it just like yourself. Well, my baby is still early to stick to the schedule, lets just pray hard that he will sleep thru the nite in the later mths
GSY, Yes, let's not push too hard to our bb and ourself too early. i am a lazy mom, i like to do things the easy way. ops: i like this forum too, knowing that every mom gone thru the same thing. let's enjoy our motherhood and be happy.
