My son Siddarth

Date written 07/08/2010 23:52:04

We have been blessed with a baby boy and he is 2.3 yrs old now. He is so loving and understanding. We all are happy in our family. He goes to playgroup, talks a lot and it is nice to hear him speaking, drawing, painting. He can dance and sing. It is so happy I can't say how much to see him active and naughty. He even calls me to dance with him and we both enjoy being together. I love my son and gives a lot of care and preference to him.
We are a small and happy family:-)

Teaching children to love reading

Date written 06/08/2010 16:52:31

I have 3 kids aged 8, 7 and 14 months old. For all 3 kids, since they are 6 months old, I bring them to library regularly and read with them everyday. This effort has paid off as my kids read everyday. Even the baby has picked up the habit of loving to read. During the day when I am working, he will flip the baby picture books that I buy or borrow from library. At night, the baby expects bed time stories from me before he sleeps. He will go to his book shelves and take some books from there. At 14 months now, besides calling the family member, naming body parts and numbers, he can say many words such as ball and bubble. It is really a joy and time for bonding when we read together as a family.

Daddy, Mommy & Me

Date written 06/08/2010 09:21:23

My family is the most special one in the world! You ask me why? Because we love each other so much, that's why! Daddy & mommy will shower me with hugs and kisses when they return from work, and they will give full attention to play with me! They're not just physically there WITH me, they were there FOR me.

Daddy will play kick ball with me (I can score a goal at 15 months old!) and mommy will read books and draw for me. She'll draw whatever I ask her to draw.. you name it.. star, moon, ball, duck, dog, house, trees, bus, car, etc etc.

And I'm learning the way things are much faster than other babies, all because daddy & mommy love me so much! I can put my dirty laundry in the laundry basket, throw things to rubbish bin, and even feed my self at 18 months!

Thank you daddy & mommy. I love you both! *muackssss*

my independent child

Date written 03/11/2008 12:42:45

We've moved here in Singapore since my daughter is about 18 months. Being an expat's wife means no help from grandparents, close friends whatsoever to do the house chores and taking care my daughter or anything a mother have to do.

The effect is obviously got to my daughter. Months go by she change from a very clingy child she turns to be a brave and independent little girl. She is able to turn on TV at the age of 2 years, bring her dirty laundry to the basket turn on and off laptop (then browse from history to find her on especially for children website) when she was 2,5 years old and since she turns 3 whenever mommy is sick she is able to tell me to rest and she can play by herself at her room or living room. She know how to tuck in mommy, bring water and even tell me to get better fast.

She amaze me in every way, her warmth and gentle caring are also well known in her school or church. Her teacher numerously told me how independent she is, she also like doing shows and looks so confident. Now as she almost 4 years old we can share more each day, we still like to hold hands when we walk, tell each other how much we love each other, she helps me wash the dishes or vegetable prepared for cooking, she even told me i'm her best friends. she touch me in so many ways that make me feel i have to be a better person each day. so i can be someone she can look up to, someone who have integrity because i know she already got my love and independent.
