Hai Noran, My son who was born premature (32weeks gestation) had this problem. Can you imagine that almost every mth he will visit the paede because of flu/cough? Paede told that he was prone to develop phlegm easily when cough/flu occur. Do not worry, as it will go away or lessen when they grew up. As a parent, you just have to watch out on the food given to your child. I gave him normal food but just look out for any allergies. My son cannot take in any kinds of grapes. That will trigger his cough then leads to phlegm. Now my son is already 5+y/o. At this age, especially when they love to snacks, I avoid giving him too much ice-cream, cold drinks or oily food. Being a watchful mom, I monitor on whatever food he takes in so we'll know if any new food is an allergy to him. And lastly, stick to one good paede ya!

My elder son too, ever since birth he has been suffering frm phlegm and leads to asthma. The only advice and prevention I was given by the doctor is to watch out the types of food I am giving him and I had no choice but to dilute his milk and feed him soft boil porridge and now he is already six yrs old so far so good no more signs of phlegm.
