Young child

After the age of three children's horizons expand. They are confident, curious and physically more active. Curiosity and imagination are foremost at this age. You will find that your child will want to explore and ask about her surroundings even more. Children's initiative grows as they discover their world of people and things. They start looking for reasons, answers, causes, solutions and new ideas. Your child will have a lot of ‘why’ questions for you. Recognizing and praising the efforts of your child will encourage her to learn more.

Children like to imitate life at home as they see it. You and other members of your household will be role models as your child imitates your actions. Her interactions with family and those around her will help to shape her personality and individual ways of thinking and moving.

Children at this age are growing more secure and confident. They enjoy group activities, learning about rules and taking turns. Language is now developed enough to have a conversation. Self-confidence is growing and they can speak up and express ideas. They are learning about making friends and find there is fun in relationships.

Children learn through play. They need to explore, experiment, and experience, as widely as possible. By providing these opportunities, you not only help your child develop, but also create a happier child and family. Therefore, it is important that you take every step necessary to ensure that your child grows up in an environment where her social, emotional and educational needs are met.
