Do not ban treats your children like
Let's face it. Changing the way a child eats is not easy. Behavioural modification is an uphill task. Practice perseverance and patience when you communicate openly with your child. Negotiate using the ABC's!
• Ask your child what he/she wants to eat.
• Be firm and make sure that majority of it is healthy.
• Compromise!
When it comes to treats, use the ABC's to negotiate because such foods have their place in a healthy diet. Remember not to over restrict sweets or treats but limit to small amounts. Allow all foods to be served, including those that are high in fat & sugar, as long as it is moderated.
