Some parents over-feed or force-feed their baby, thinking that the more their baby eats, the better for their baby. In fact, they may be doing more harm to their baby than good. Here are some ways to avoid over-feeding your baby:

Let your baby lead the way:
• Offer small portions of food and wait while your baby finishes each mouthful completely before offering more.
• When your baby is able to, let him feed himself. This helps him to develop his motor skills as well as enables him to dictate the amount of food he needs.

Tips to Remember:

Full Signals

Your baby has enough food or milk if he exhibits these food signals
• By six months, if he turns his head decisively away from the bottle or spoon or shuts his mouth, towards the end of the meal.
• By eight or nine months, if he pushes the food away.
