It is also full of useful nutrition advice for your child’s ever increasing energy and nutritional requirements and growth. This is a great stage in your child’s life as they become more interactive and engaging, but with their increased language and curiosity there may be some questions you can’t answer; remember we’re always here to support you.

Commercial rusks can be packed with lots of sugar and thus not ideal for your baby. To make your own healthy, sugar-free rusks, here's what you should do:

• Slice thick slices of bread into fingers of about 1 inch and cut off the crusts.

• Place them on a baking tray and bake in the oven at 140C for about 40 minutes or until dry and crisp.

• Remove rusks from the oven and when cold, store in an airtight container for up to a week.
