Here are some strategies to get your child off to school on time without missing his breakfast

• Make sure that your refrigerator and cupboard are well-stocked with easy-to-eat and easy-to-serve breakfast foods such as bread, cereals, milk, jam, cheese, baked beans, sweet or savory dumplings, fresh fruits, fruit juice, yoghurt, etc.
• For savoury alternatives such as chicken porridge, do all your preparation the night before and cook it in the slow cooker. By the next morning, the chicken porridge is cooked and ready to be eaten!
• If your child cannot wake up in time for his breakfast, pack something healthy and easy-to-carry, such as sandwiches, cereal bars, a fresh fruits, a packet of milk or fruit juice for him to consume on his way to school.
• Set a good example by eating breakfast with your child.
• If necessary, set the alarm 10 minutes earlier.
