Breastfeeding is the best for babies and a healthy diet / maternal nutrition is important when breastfeeding. A decision not to breastfeed can be difficult to reverse. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. It is recommended that all formula milks be used on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian, pharmacist, or other professional responsible for maternal and child care and the financial implications should be considered. All preparation and feeding instructions should be followed carefully as inappropriate preparation could lead to health hazards.

Cauliflower Potato Mash

Ingredients

  • 220 g baking potatoes
  • Around 4 cauliflower florets
  • 3 tbsp warm milk
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh, chopped chives

 

Stove or oven method:

Peel the potatoes, cut into 2 inch pieces and simmer in a saucepan of water for 10 minutes.

Add the cauliflower florets and cook for around 6-8 minutes more, until the potatoes and cauliflowers are tender.

Drain well.

Mash the potato and cauliflower together with the cheese and chives, then stir in the milk and olive oil.​​
