Breastfeeding is the best for babies and a healthy diet / maternal nutrition is important when breastfeeding. A decision not to breastfeed can be difficult to reverse. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. It is recommended that all formula milks be used on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian, pharmacist, or other professional responsible for maternal and child care and the financial implications should be considered. All preparation and feeding instructions should be followed carefully as inappropriate preparation could lead to health hazards.

Chilled Tofu Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 120 ml milk or prepared follow-on formula
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 garlic clove, crushed
  • 170 g soft tofu
  • 1 tbsp chopped, fresh parsley

 

Stove or oven method:

Saute the onion in toil over a medium heat for 2-3 minutes, until opaque.

Add the tomato and continue to cook for 3 minutes.

Add the milk, black pepper and garlic and cook, stirring, for a further 2 minutes.

Allow to cool slightly, then add the tofu and transfer to a blender.

Blend until smooth, then serve chilled with a parsley garnish!​​
