Breastfeeding is the best for babies and a healthy diet / maternal nutrition is important when breastfeeding. A decision not to breastfeed can be difficult to reverse. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. It is recommended that all formula milks be used on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian, pharmacist, or other professional responsible for maternal and child care and the financial implications should be considered. Sweet Potato Hash Browns

Ingredients

  • Little olive oil
  • 3 tbsp onion, diced very finely
  • 1/2 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 sweet potato, medium size
  • Little pinch of freshly ground black pepper

Stove or oven method:

Peel the potato, then shred it with a coarse grater.

Heat the oil, then saute the onion for a couple of minutes until it begins to soften.

Add the rest of the ingredients, then press the mixture into little patties.

Cook for 5 minutes on one side, then turn carefully and cook for 5 to 10 minutes on the other.

Tips:

Besides mashing or blending boiled sweet potatoes into a purée, this nutritious root vegetable can also be pan fried into a delicious savoury snack.​​
