You may want to test the first thing in the morning, when the hormone levels in the urine are likely to be at their highest. It is best to consult doctor if you have missed period for 2 weeks and you see a faint line on the pregnancy test kit.
Pregnancy Testing Kit measure the levels of hCG (hormone secreted when you're pregnant) in your urine. The amount of urine each test can detect varies widely. The amount of hormone each woman secret may also vary, but not as widely. The better tests on the market will measure 25-50 mIUs of hCG, which is usually the amount found in urine between the 4th and 5th weeks of gestation. These tests rarely give false results. A negative answer that is later revealed to be a pregnancy or a faint line is usually the result of the test being performed too early in pregnancy. You can help better your chances of having enough hCG in your urine by waiting four hours after you last urinated to take the test. This will allow hCG to build up in your urine. Also first morning urine will always contain the highest concentration of hCG. If the home pregnancy test does not completely confirms you are pregnant you should go to a doctor for further confirmation. Not only will the doctor find out whether you are pregnant, he/she will also make sure you receive proper advice and support right from the start.
As long as the results is read within the 10 minutes time frame, it's a positive no matter how faint the line is :) You can use the digital one from Clearblue to confirm again the next morning by using the first morning urine. It is usually more concentrated thus easier to detect the HCG levels. I used those cheap test kits that I bought online and also the clearblue brand, both gave clear results within minutes :)
There is a chance that Preg test kit gives false negative results but it never gives false positve results. You may want to disregard the colour density of the positive line as you need to be pregnant in order to generate that hormone which will cause a positive result on the test kits. Chances are you are preggy now! Congratulations my friend!
If there is a faint line on the pregnancy kit and the test was performed and read correctly, it would mean that you are pregnant but the pregnancy hormone levels in your body might not be at a high level yet. If you are in doubt, you can make a trip to your doctor and have a blood test done for the pregnancy hormone (Beta-HCG) levels which can confirm pregnancy.
you can never count on 1 pregnancy test kit, always try again on second one, and also go to the doctor might help greatly too.
Similar to Peggy, I also discovered that Im pregnant when i saw the faint line. I was using some clinical test strips. To confirm, I actually went to buy Clearblue Digital Test kit and it showed that I am 1-2 weeks pregnant. After which I decided to pay a visit to the gynae. =)
You may be very early in your pregnancy when the pregnancy hormone HCG is still not very strong. You may also want to buy a better brand to test & i suggest clearblue and urine on the stick 1st thing in the morning when the HCG is very concentrated in your urine. When I suspected that I was pregnant this time, I bought a watsons test kit to test. It gave a very faint positive. So to double confirm, I bought clearblue to test agn on the next day & it showed a very clear positive. Some house brands test kits from watsons & guardian doesn't give very clear results. But I bought them to test water 1st as they are cheaper. haha.. I wish U good luck!!!
I think it does mean that you are pregnent , it's either you r at an early stage or maybe chances of miscarriage. Pregnancy kit can only detect more accurately after 10weeks. I was bleeding when I tested positive with a faint line, doctor gave some "baby stabilizing medicine"/hormone pills and eventually everything was ok, thank god. Always think positive !
That happened to me when I tested for pregnancy too. Hence, I went to check with the gp. Based on what the gp told me, the pregnancy kit is very sensitive and it is very likely that you are pregnant even though the positive line is very faint. If you still feel uncertain, you may like to do another pregnancy test at the clinic.
I think as long as there is a positive line on the pregnancy test kit. You are pregnant. However, you may want to re-test again two days later to see if the positive line get darker. I had a faint positive line on the pregnancy test kit few months ago and i went to gynae for a blood test. Indeed i was pregnant. But unfortunately two days later, my hcg level dropped and i had a very early miscarriage. I think this is known as chemical pregnancy.
Get the clearblue digital test kit.. It shows very clearly whether you're pregnant or not (in text) and how many weeks into the pregnancy.
