Breastfeeding is the best for babies and a healthy diet / maternal nutrition is important when breastfeeding. A decision not to breastfeed can be difficult to reverse. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. It is recommended that all formula milks be used on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian, pharmacist, or other professional responsible for maternal and child care and the financial implications should be considered. All preparation and feeding instructions should be followed carefully as inappropriate preparation could lead to health hazards.

Ingredients

  • 1 plain English muffin
  • About 1 tbsp pizza sauce (or canned spaghetti in tomato sauce or plain tomato sauce)
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • Optional: a sprinkle of dried oregano
  • About 1 tbsp chopped, cooked ham
  • A little thinly sliced cheese

*makes 2 muffins pizzas

Stove or oven method:

Split the muffin and lightly toast both sides under a hot grill.

Spread each half with pizza sauce (or spaghetti in sauce, or tomato sauce). Top with diced tomato.

Optional: add a pinch of dried oregano. Add chopped ham. Cover with sliced cheese. Grill until cheese has melted.

Cool slightly before serving. Cut each muffin pizza into 4 pieces for easy eating.

Tips:

For these muffin-based pizzas a little pizza sauce is tastiest. Canned spaghetti in tomato sauce or ordinary tomato sauce is blander and sweeter.
