Breastfeeding is the best for babies and a healthy diet / maternal nutrition is important when breastfeeding. A decision not to breastfeed can be difficult to reverse. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. It is recommended that all formula milks be used on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian, pharmacist, or other professional responsible for maternal and child care and the financial implications should be considered. All preparation and feeding instructions should be followed carefully as inappropriate preparation could lead to health hazards.

Is Using Dry Shampoo During Confinement Good?

Roxanne answered:

"Using dry shampoo during confinement is a way to help keep your scalp and hair follicles temporarily clean from excess oil. But in fact they don't clean your hair nearly as well as a regular shampoo and they also may leave a white residue that can be a no-no for dark hair. Personally I have tried dry shampoo during my confinement and I don't feel comfortable after a few days of usage as I felt my hair feeling sticky and my scalp appeared to be more sensitive and itchy after that. It is not advisable to rely solely on dry shampoo during your confinement, you still need to go for normal hair washing once every two days depending on individual tolerance and scalp sensitivity. It's important to remember that the use of a dry shampoo cannot be a complete replacement for regular hair washing as they can cause oil and dirt to build up in your hair. This can cause unhealthy and dull hair. However, there are definitely some dry shampoo that certainly work better than others, So it's important to shop around and invest in quality ones when choosing. "

"I used dry shampoo for my 1st confinement. I suppose the pro is that at least I got to clean my hair while at the same time kept my mum happy by not thoroughly wetting my hair. haha.... Sorry, I forgot the name of the brand, 'coz it's more than 3 years ago. But it was in a spray canister, where you then apply the foam to your hair, then you can massage your hair thoroughly and then just comb your hair. The con is... well, it's just different from the freshness of having rinse your whole body from shower. =)"
