Breastfeeding is the best for babies and a healthy diet / maternal nutrition is important when breastfeeding. A decision not to breastfeed can be difficult to reverse. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. It is recommended that all formula milks be used on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian, pharmacist, or other professional responsible for maternal and child care and the financial implications should be considered. All preparation and feeding instructions should be followed carefully as inappropriate preparation could lead to health hazards.

Choosing Yoghurt For Babies

It is usually recommended to introduce yogurt when baby is between 9 to 10 months of age, though most babies can safely try yogurt as early as 7 months old. At whatever age you choose to start yogurt, be a little selective about your choice of baby yogurts. While many yogurts are marketed to kids, not all are as healthy as others. Be sure you select a whole milk yogurt because your baby needs the nutritious fat in yogurt for proper development. While all yogurt contains naturally occurring sugars, you likely want to be mindful of how much sugar is added and if there are other additives - like fructose syrup and the starches. Try to choose plain, whole milk yogurt. For flavor you can stir in a fruit or veggie purée that your baby can tolerate well. You can make all sorts of different yogurt concoctions. You might try mixing yogurt with: applesauce, peaches, bananas, mashed avocado, sweet potatoes, pumpkin or blend of green beans and pears. Yogurt (and cheese) undergo a culturing process that breaks down the milk proteins. This makes yogurt and cheese easier to digest, while being a great source of protein. You can buy all kinds of yogurts in most of the supermarkets.

U can buy fr supermarkets like ntuc. There are many brands.. marigold, meji etc. For babies like 9mth old, best is to give them natural flavour. I used to also add in some soft real fruits like papaya into the yogurt for my baby then. At first she din like it as its v different from milk taste. . But I gave it to her gradually in small portion. Gd for healthy digestive system.
