Breastfeeding is the best for babies and a healthy diet / maternal nutrition is important when breastfeeding. A decision not to breastfeed can be difficult to reverse. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. It is recommended that all formula milks be used on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian, pharmacist, or other professional responsible for maternal and child care and the financial implications should be considered. Homemade Tofu and Egg Yolk Congee Recipe

tofu and egg yolk congee

Ingredients

  • 1 piece of tofu
  • 1 boiled egg
  • 50 ml water
  • 1/2 bowl of cooked rice

 

Stove or oven method:

Mash the tofu into a fine paste.

Remove the shell and white of the boiled egg. Mash half or all of the egg yolk into a fine paste (start with a little if your baby is new to egg).

Mix the water, tofu paste and cooked rice into a clay pot. Heat up under medium fire.

When the mixture boils, turn to low flame.

Add egg yolk paste and stir well until the porridge is boiling again.

Switch off the fire, pour porridge into a bowl and cool to suit baby before serving.​​
